Veteran's Haven
Introducing
How These Builds Can Revolutionize A Community
Community
A collaborative effort between Family & Community Services, Steel Valley Container Structures, and MXA Architecture to bring housing for our local veterans.
Details
This 5400 sq ft facility will be able to comfortably accommodate 14 veterans with a private bedroom and bathroom and will be built using a combination of container and traditional building methods.
Timeline
The groundbreaking will begin on mid November 2023 and the project is expected to be completed and ready to open in October 2024.
"The biggest thing we need in the city is to rebuild, but we can’t just rebuild when it comes to houses and businesses. What Veteran’s Haven is doing is helping us rebuild people."

-Councilman Julius Oliver
A Special Thank You Note!
First off, this project wouldn't be possible without the amazing support from The Department of Veterans Affairs Capital Program, contributing $600,000 of capital funding, along with $150,000 of ARPA funding from The Mahoning County Board of Commissioners, and a $100,000 from the City of Youngstown-Ward One, spearheaded by Councilman Julius Oliver. Additionally, while the program was ongoing, Sunrise Pizza in Warren generously contributed $5,000 and a 5K event held at Camp James A. Garfield in Ravenna successfully raised another $1,500.

We also wouldn't be anywhere with Family & Community Services, who have brought this build and many more just like to Northeast Ohio. They have done such incredible things for the community. Also, MXA Architecture for helping provide all the concepts and design ideas and truly helping us bring this idea to life.

Lastly, thank you to each and every person who has followed along in our journey!
